Editorial Policy
This page sets out how the writing on Lekker Betting Sites is done. It is short because the rules are simple.
Facts come from the operator, not from other review sites
A licence number, a welcome offer, a payment method or an app platform goes on our page only after we have read it on the operator’s own site, on a South African connection, on the date shown. We do not lift figures from other comparison sites, and we do not take an operator’s word for it in an email. If two of the operator’s own pages disagree, we quote both and say so.
We use the sites we write about
A review is written by someone who has registered, looked at the deposit and withdrawal pages, read the promotions page and tried the app on a phone. Where we could not see something without depositing, the review says that, and does not fill the gap with a guess.
Every review names something wrong
No betting site is perfect and a review with nothing critical in it is not a review. Every operator page on this site names at least one real weakness, whether that is a thin welcome offer, a missing iPhone app, a slow payout route or a bonus term that catches people out.
Scores are opinion
The score out of five is the editorial team’s judgement, formed by the method on the rating page. It is not an audit and it is not a guarantee. Two people using the same betting site can have different experiences, and a score is our honest best reading of the likely one.
Keeping pages current
Welcome offers in South Africa change often, sometimes weekly. Each review shows the date of its last check. We re-check the biggest operators most often and every operator when a reader reports a change. A figure that has gone stale is corrected, not defended.
Corrections
When we get something wrong we fix it on the page and, where the mistake mattered, we note the correction at the bottom of that page. Send corrections through the contact page.
Independence from operators
Operators pay commission when a reader joins through a link on this site. They do not pay for a review, a score, a position in a list or a change of wording. Operators get no advance copy and no editing rights. Where an operator asks us to change a review, we re-check the facts and change only what the facts support.
Who writes the site
The site is written by an editorial team with experience in online betting in South Africa and other regulated markets. We write as “we” because more than one person checks each page before it goes live. We do not use a made-up expert with a stock photo, and we never will.
