Editorial Policy
This page sets out how the pages on Lekker Betting Sites are researched, written, checked and kept up to date.
Facts come from the operator, not from other review sites
A licence number, a welcome offer, a payment method or an app platform goes on our page only after we have read it on the operator’s own pages, and the page says when we read it, as the comparison table on our home page and our Hollywoodbets review both do. We do not lift figures from other comparison sites, and we do not take an operator’s word for it in an email. If two of the operator’s own pages disagree, we quote both and say so.
We use the sites we write about
A review is written by someone who has opened the betting site on a phone and read its promotions, deposit and withdrawal pages. Our Hollywoodbets review, for example, opened the site on an iPhone 15 view over a South African connection, logged out. Where we cannot see something without an account, the review says so instead of guessing: that review could not see fixtures or prices while logged out and says it could not judge the odds.
Every review names something wrong
Every review on this site names at least one real weakness in its cons list, and the Hollywoodbets review’s cons include its small, short welcome offer: R55 of free play in all, with both parts expiring 24 hours after you get them.
Scores are opinion
The score out of five is the editorial team’s judgement, formed by the method on the rating page. It is not an audit and it is not a guarantee. Two people using the same betting site can have different experiences, and a score is our honest best reading of the likely one. Hollywoodbets, for instance, scores 4 out of 5 on the checks the rating page sets out.
Keeping pages current
Welcome offers in South Africa change often, so each review carries the date it was published and the date of its test on a phone, and the comparison table on our home page gives the date the offers were read. We re-check the biggest operators most often and every operator when a reader reports a change. A figure that has gone stale is corrected, not defended.
Corrections
When we get something wrong we fix it on the page and, where the mistake mattered, we note the correction at the bottom of that page. Send corrections through the contact page.
Independence from operators
Where an operator pays commission for a reader who joins through a link on this site, that payment does not buy a review, a score, a position in a list or a change of wording. Operators get no advance copy and no editing rights. Where an operator asks us to change a review, we re-check the facts and change only what the facts support.
Who writes the site
Pages carry the byline Editorial Team, with no made-up expert and no stock photo, and we write as “we” because more than one person checks each page before it goes live. Our about page explains who writes the site, and our affiliate disclosure explains how it is funded.
