No cookie banner or consent prompt showed when we opened the home page of lekkerbettingsites.co.za as a phone in South Africa. This page explains what a cookie is, what our pages load in your browser and what a betting site sets once you follow a link to it.

What a cookie does

A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser so it can recognise you on the next page or the next visit. Sites use them to keep you logged in, to remember a basket, or, on most commercial sites, to track what you look at for advertising. This site has no login, no basket and no advertising, so it has no use for them.

Technical files

The hosting and caching layer that serves the pages may set a short-lived technical file so the site loads quickly and stays protected from abuse. It carries no personal information, it is not used to track you across sites, and it is gone when you close the browser or shortly after.

The one outside service the pages load

When a page opens, your browser also fetches the site’s two typefaces, Inter and Plus Jakarta Sans, from Google Fonts. When we loaded the home page as a phone in South Africa, that was the only request answered by another company’s servers, and no advertising network, analytics tool or social media pixel loaded.

Betting sites are different

When you follow a link to an operator, that operator’s site will set its own cookies and will normally show you its own banner. Those cookies belong to the operator and are governed by its policy, not by this page. Betway, for example, shows a cookie notice on its home page saying that by using the site you agree to its cookie policy, and Betfred South Africa links its own cookie policy from its footer.

If you want to block cookies anyway

Every browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. Doing so will not change anything on this site, because there is nothing here to block. It may stop parts of an operator’s site from working as they should, so check the operator’s own cookie policy before you block its cookies.

Changes

If the site ever begins to use cookies of its own, this page will be rewritten to say which ones, what for and how to refuse them, and a consent banner will appear at the same time. Until then there is no banner because there is nothing to agree to.
